Jeffrey Blair Cornell has been acting with PlayMakers Repertory Company since 1995. Past seasons: “Henry Higgins” in My Fair Lady, “Uncle Peck” in How I Learned to Drive, “King Henry/Pistol” in Henry IV/V, “Herr Schultz” in Cabaret, and “Roy Cohn” in Angels in America (Millenium Approaches/Perestroika). Other notable roles with PlayMakers include the Woodchuck in “Bewilderness”, “Vanya” in Vanya, Sonya, Masha and Spike, “Father Flynn” in Doubt, “Matamore the Lunatic” in The Illusion, and “The King” in Big River. Favorite productions from 25 seasons with PlayMakers include The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, The Tempest, Metamorphoses, Opus, Arcadia, Cyrano de Bergerac, King Lear, The Threepenny Opera, The Laramie Project, An Enemy of the People, Uncle Vanya, Side Man, Wit, Assassins, Into the Woods and Hobson’s Choice.
Jeffrey has acted in New York and regionally at the Guthrie Theater, Pittsburgh Public Theater, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Paper Mill Playhouse, Victory Gardens Theatre, Caldwell Theatre Company (2 Best Supporting Actor Carbonell Award Nominations), and in summer stock at Michigan’s Birmingham Theatre and five seasons at St. Michael’s Playhouse (CORST “Z”) in Vermont.
Jeffrey studied in New York with Uta Hagen and Austin Pendleton at HB Studios and holds an MFA from the Professional Actor Training Program at UNC-Chapel Hill. A member of Actors’ Equity Association and Screen Actors Guild, Jeffrey currently serves as Teaching Professor/Associate Chair in the Department of Dramatic Art. He teaches courses in acting, voice, and dramatic literature.
