Assistant Costume Director/Teaching Assistant Professor
Jennifer Bayang serves as Assistant Costume Director/Teaching Assistant Professor for the UNC/PlayMakers Costume Shop. In that capacity she handles the day-to-day needs of the shop as well as teaching a graduate level seminar class. Courses she has taught include flat pattern drafting, draping, costume shop management, digital technologies for costume production, and creative draping. Additionally, she has coordinated costumes for several PRC2 productions, including Your Healing is Killing Me, Temples of Lung and Air, Count, Mr. Joy, and Nina Simone. Prior to joining us here at PlayMakers, Ms. Bayang draped for four seasons at Syracuse Stage, the regional theatre in residence at Syracuse University. There she worked with such designers as Paul Tazewell, Jessica Ford, Tracy Dorman, and Susanne Chesney. Ms. Bayang received her MFA in Costume Production from Boston University.
