MFA candidate Danielle Soldat wins award at USITT-Southeast
September 26, 2018Costume production MFA candidate Danielle Soldat won an award in the Design/Tech Expo at USITT-Southeast conference in Myrtle Beach, SC this fall.
Danielle’s poster, “Dali Kingdom Leather Tooled Armor,” detailed her process for reproducing an antique breastplate in the costume collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. Danielle used a combination of traditional leatherworking techniques and digitized laser-cutting methods for her replica, which she produced to fit a contemporary female performer. As a winner of the student division of the expo, Danielle’s admission to the USITT national conference in spring will be provided by the USITT-Southeast chapter.
Congratulations, Dani!
