Athene is a third-year graduate student. After graduating with a BA in Non-Western History, she worked at Bethany Joy Costumes Inc., where her stitching credits included numerous Broadway, film, and television projects. During her time in graduate school, she has worked as a first-hand at the Santa Fe Opera and draper at the Playmakers Repertory Company. She also collaborated with Rachel E. Pollock to publish the article “Thoroughly Modern Millinery” in Theatre Design & Technology. As the current holder of the Gillings Fellowship, she is pursuing research into the applications of digital technologies in costume production.
