Siobhan Nestor

Siobhan Nestor is currently working as principal women’s draper at the Metropolitan Opera. After graduating from UNC, she went home to New York where she started out as a cutter at EuroCo Costumes; there she worked on the original productions of Hairspray, The Producers, and Wicked. She then moved to Carelli Costumes as a first hand and then moved up to draper where she had the opportunity to work with designers like Marty Pakledinaz (The Pirate Queen, Grease), William Ivey Long (Boy from Oz, La Cage Aux Foilles, Young Frankenstein) Gregg Barnes (Legally Blonde) and Jess Goldstein (Jersey Boys).In 2008, Siobhan left to become a freelancer and a Mom to two amazing boys. She spent those years working from her home studio building custom gowns, doing alterations, creating two Etsy stores as well as occasional pieces for Broadway and regional theater.After six years of working from home, Siobhan worked at ByBarak and Eric Winterling before becoming the men’s draper at New York City Ballet. She ran the men’s department for 3.5 years until offered the position at the Metropolitan Opera.Regional theater credits include Glimmerglass Opera, the McCarter Theater, Utah Shakespeare Festival, and Williamstown Theater Festival.
