Brandon Smith

Brandon Smithhas performed with such regional theaters as the Tyrone Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis, the Dallas Shakespeare Theatre, and the Plano Repertory Theatre. He has also performed in numerous commercials and voice-overs in New York City and North Texas. In 2003, Brandon did motion-capture and voice-over work on the video game “Unreal Tournament 2004”, which was named Multiplayer Game of the Year by E3, IGN,GameSpy, andComputer Gaming World. Selected directing credits includeThe Rivals, Romeo and Juliet, Lobby Hero,…And the Rain Came to Mayfield(KCACTF Region VI Richard A. Weaver Award, 2010), andBandersnatch (KCACTF Regional Finalist, and KCACTF National Distinguished Director 2012). Brandon is an Assistant Professor and the Coordinator of Theatre Studies at Brevard College. From 2008-2012 Mr. Smith taught and directed at Midwestern State University. In 2012 Brandon was invited to speak on cross-disciplinary undergraduate research between the arts and sciences at the national COPLAC (Consortium of Public Liberal Arts Colleges) conference. During Summer 2012, Smith was also awarded the Kennedy Center’s Distinguished New Work Award for writing the playBandersnatch.
