Sarah E. Shively

Sarah E. Shivelyis co-owner of Open Sesame Productions, Inc., a small media production company creating video, web and app content. Recent clients include Focus Features, The Netherlands Consulate General in New York and the National Psoriasis Foundation. As a filmmaker, her short film CONTEMPLATING EMILY journeyed the film circuit for the 2006-2007 season premiering at LA’s Outfest and ending at the Short Film Corner,Le Marché du Film, the Festival de Cannes.Her next short is a horror genre film entitled FINGERTRAP, and last year she pinned her first theatrical script working with Niles Ford on hisIn Search of the Invisible Peopledance/docu project that chronicles the underground rise of House during the repressive era of the Giuliani Administration, the corporate takeover of the small disco labels and the AIDS epidemic. Shively serves on the faculty of Columbia University’s American Language Program and is a member of AEA and SAG-AFTRA. In 2011 she read the role of Gwen Landis in Lanford Wilson’s5th of Julyin an OSP staged reading production. Ellen McLaughlin played Sally Talley—their reading date was just days before Wilson’s passing.
